Choosing Appropriate Sympathy Flowers

Life is full of joyful experiences and occasions, but sometimes sad times come. When a loved one or close friend passes away, the team at Blossom Flower Shops are here to assist you in choosing the most appropriate and meaningful sympathy flowers.

The lily is the one of the flower varieties often associated with  memorial services and funerals, as they represent the purity and innocence which the departed is thought to have regained. Roses also make meaningful funeral flowers. White roses signify reverence, while red roses express love, respect and courage. Pink roses, often used for mothers and grandmothers, represent love, grace and gratitude.

Did You Know? When you include a single rose in a bouquet it expresses enduring love for the deceased.

Which Sympathy Flowers Are Appropriate? It is the responsibility of the family to select flowers for the casket or urn, as well as any arrangements for the memorial service or funeral. These flowers may have a special meaning, such as representing the deceased’s favorite flower or color. Relatives, friends and colleagues may opt to have a standing spray, cross or wreath delivered to the funeral home or church, but it is not considered appropriate to send these formal arrangements to the family home.

It is always appropriate to send flowers to the loved one’s home, but these will be bouquets, florals in vases or baskets. Condolence gifts are always a special touch, whether a keepsake angel, cross, or green plant.

Blossom Flower Shops is honored to help you to remember your loved one in a beautiful way. We are happy to deliver to all Yonkers and White Plains area funeral homes as well. Please let us know how we can assist you through this difficult time.
