Which Sympathy Flowers Are Appropriate? It is the responsibility of the family to select flowers for the casket or urn, as well as any arrangements for the memorial service or funeral. Relatives, friends and colleagues may opt to have a standing spray, cross or wreath delivered to the funeral home or church, but it is not considered appropriate to send these formal arrangements to the family home.
