How To Do Pantone’s 2018 Color Of The Year

Blossom Flower Shops is looking forward to the year of purple – or should we say reign, since it’s the traditional color of nobility. Ever since color company Pantone announced their pick for Color of the Year 2018, we’ve been thinking about how to capture their choice – Ultra Violet – in flower form. Intriguing, cosmic, majestic, purple is one of those colors that can inject a lot of drama into your space.

We love it paired with a bright, poppy yellow as in our Simply Splendid bouquet because, let’s face it, contrast is everything. The yellow lightens up the purple, the purple gives the yellow more depth, and the individual clusters of flowers are appreciated for their individual contributions to the whole design.

if you want to test run Pantone’s bold choice in color this year, start with a floral item first. You don’t have to buy all those throw pillows or commit to a paint color to bring Ultra Violet into your home. Instead, bring this introspective hue in via a floral arrangement that will help you get used to it. The design world will likely welcome the Color of the Year with both arms, so there will be plenty of inspiration in magazines and social media, as well as in the stores. Go get you some purple.
