Follow Your Nose To These Floral Attractions

If you’ve never been to a floral festival or event, plan your adventure for spring and summer 2019. During the warmer months, bloom-centric festivities pop up across the country, with towns, cities, regions and sometimes whole states (we’re looking at you and your lavender, California) join in to celebrate one particularly representative flower. Blossom Flower Shops has rounded up a good crop of these events, and the best part is, none of them are too far afield.

Rochester Lilac Festival, Rochester, New York

Every May, the city commemorates this lovely purple flower being in bloom, offering a free festival that spans ten days and includes parades, live music, races, food and 500 varieties of lilacs. Head to Highland Park to get a taste of local culture through the lens of flowers.

Daffodil Festival on Nantucket, Massachusetts

This sweet yellow flower is cause for an enormous celebration on one of the area’s most cherished islands. The festival features art shows, tours, an antique car parade complete with a tailgate picnic, fun contests, educational opportunities and a flower show. This is a family-friendly event, too, so bring your littlest flower fans.

Philadelphia Flower Show, Pennsylvania

If you want to immerse yourself in floral culture, head here. Since 1829, horticulturalists have been gathering together to host the largest indoor flower show in the U.S., offering a wellspring of classes, talks and a market full of the most distinctive flowers you’ll ever see, lighting up the space like our Tangerine Tango does below.Tangerine Tango - Flower Delivery White Plains & Yonkers, NY
