In the fall, we start to see invites for charitable events supporting breast cancer research and awareness. Many of the items we use each day are transformed to feature pink packaging and a donation to a cancer charity. This year, observe, remember, and educate yourself during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and flowers from Blossom Flower Shops.
Sending Flowers During October
The official color of Breast Cancer Awareness Month is pink, and so it’s not surprising that many flower gifts are sent in various shades of pink, fuchsia, and coral. If someone important in your life has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer, you might be struggling as to how you can support your friend or relative in this trying time. A gift of pink roses is a beautiful, elegant gesture that will show how much you care.
Do you have a friend who lost her mother, a daughter, or a sibling to breast cancer? Consider sending a large vase of pink and white flowers that features lilies and orchids. Lilies are a beautiful flower, and they’re often given in remembrance of a loved one. If your friend’s grief is due to a recent loss, the flowers will be especially appreciated. You may also consider making a donation to a cancer charity in the name of the person who passed.
Taking Part in Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Giving someone a beautiful vase of lilies and roses is a wonderful way to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month and to honor someone who is currently fighting the disease or who is in remission and celebrating a cancer-free diagnosis. Flowers are also a tender and elegant gift for remembrance during October.
There are many ways you can participate in the month that will make your contribution as special as possible. For example, you may choose to walk or run a local 5K race and raise funds for a local breast cancer charity group. You can also hold a fundraising event on your own to get people involved, as well as purchase products where a portion of the proceeds benefits breast cancer research. You can also donate to Avon Walk for Breast Cancer at our check out.
Flowers are a beautiful and universally appreciated part of friendship, family, and acquaintance. Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an important time to get educated on the subject of breast cancer, donate time and money to charitable efforts, and honor those who have fought a heroic battle against the disease. This year, make flowers part of your observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
