Get ready, it’s the Earth’s birthday on April 22.

Well, not exactly a birthday per se, but we here at Blossom Flower Shops feel like it’s in the same spirit. Earth Day is an annual global celebration of our planet, an opportunity to raise environmental awareness, a chance to educate ourselves on how to best preserve and support life on Earth, and a moment to appreciate its abundant natural resources and riches. And when we say riches, we mean flowers and plants. What better way to honor the Earth—especially after you’ve spent the day at a recycling drive, clean-up or environmental fair—than to gather with friends and family and have a gorgeous dinner? So for all intents and purposes, this feels like the biggest birthday ever, and everyone’s invited.

Once you’ve done your good deeds for the day, invite some people over to make dinner together. Shop local, serve a big, garden-fresh salad, and make the meal collaborative. Mealtimes can also be an opportunity to conserve and be conscious about what you consume.
